In Sukma, Chhattisgarh, Naxals detonated an IED, killing ASP Akash Rao Giripunje and wounding multiple police officers. The explosion occurred near Dondra village. The ASP of the Konta Division was fatally wounded and died while receiving medical attention at Konta Hospital. The police were on patrol due to a bandh called by Naxals. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra mourned the death of ASP Giripunje, calling him a brave officer who had received several gallantry awards. This attack is a stark reminder of the security challenges in the region, as Naxals continue to target security forces. The incident is part of a series of attacks that continue to challenge the security forces in the state. Efforts to combat the Naxals continue. The government has increased operations against the naxals and is committed to eradicating Naxalism.
