Chhattisgarh is stepping up its digital governance game with the introduction of credit card, debit card, and UPI payment options for Goods and Services Tax (GST) filings. This progressive initiative, backed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Finance Minister OP Choudhary, aims to simplify tax procedures for all businesses. The previous reliance on net banking often led to complications, including failed transactions and connectivity issues, particularly impacting smaller businesses. By integrating these popular digital payment methods onto the GST portal, the state is providing taxpayers with greater flexibility and ease. This reform is a direct response to industry feedback and is expected to foster a more efficient, transparent, and accessible tax environment, ultimately contributing to Chhattisgarh’s economic development and its reputation as a digitally progressive state.
