A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai convened today at the Mahanadi Bhavan, resulting in several important decisions impacting the state’s economy and citizens.
A significant decision was the amendment of the Krushak Unnati Yojana to benefit farmers. The scheme will now include farmers who grow pulses, oilseeds, and maize instead of paddy during the Kharif 2025 season. This adds to the existing support for paddy farmers.
Farmers registered in Kharif 2024 who sold paddy at the support price and then switch to cultivating alternative crops such as pulses, oilseeds, or maize in Kharif 2025 will also be eligible for assistance under the Krushak Unnati Yojana.
The cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund Formation and Management and Regulation Bill-2025. This move aims to improve financial management related to pension payments for state government employees at the time of retirement.
To ensure long-term economic development and fiscal stability, the cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund Formation and Management and Regulation Bill-2025. This fund will help manage revenue fluctuations and provide financial stability during economic downturns.
Furthering infrastructure development, the Chhattisgarh State Logistics Policy-2025 was approved. This policy aims to develop Chhattisgarh as a logistics hub and bolster export infrastructure.
The state will leverage its geographical advantages to attract investments from national and multinational logistics and e-commerce companies. The policy will increase storage capacity, offering affordable storage to industries, traders, and farmers, thereby stimulating trade, investment, and economic growth.
The policy will promote the establishment of dry ports and inland container depots, providing access to export markets for micro, small, and medium enterprises and local producers. It will also foster an ecosystem for the export of forest resources and medicinal plants, and generate new employment opportunities, positioning the state as a leader in logistics and exports.
The cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill-2025 to decriminalize certain provisions in state laws, thus making it easier to do business and reducing the burden of legal proceedings.
Seven redevelopment schemes were approved for dilapidated government buildings and underutilized land across various locations, including Shanti Nagar Raipur and others.
Finally, the cabinet approved a one-time reduction in the minimum qualifying service from five to two years for promotions from Upper Class Registration Clerk/Record Keeper to the position of Third Class Executive, Sub-Registrar.
