The Chhattisgarh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has announced a series of significant policy decisions following a recent Cabinet meeting. These decisions span multiple sectors, including agriculture, finance, and logistics.
One of the key announcements is the expansion of the Krishak Unnati Yojana. The scheme will now encompass farmers who cultivate pulses, oilseeds, and maize in place of paddy during the Kharif 2025 season. This expansion aims to provide broader support to the agricultural community. Farmers who participated in the Kharif 2024 paddy procurement program and choose to grow alternative crops in the following season will also be eligible for assistance.
In a move aimed at improving financial management, the Cabinet approved the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund Formation and its Management and Regulation Bill-2025. This fund is designed to streamline pension payments and manage related financial obligations effectively.
To ensure fiscal stability and promote economic development, the Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund Formation and its Management and Regulation Bill-2025 was also approved. This fund will serve to manage fluctuations in state revenue and provide a financial buffer during economic challenges.
The state is also set to become a logistics hub with the approval of the Chhattisgarh State Logistics Policy-2025. This policy aims to develop a robust logistics ecosystem, attract investment, and strengthen export infrastructure. It is hoped that this will facilitate trade, investment and economic growth.
Furthermore, the policy seeks to leverage the state’s strategic location to attract investment, increase storage capacity, and reduce logistics costs. It will also encourage the establishment of dry ports and inland container depots, providing opportunities for local businesses to access export markets.
Other notable decisions include the approval of the Chhattisgarh Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill-2025. This initiative seeks to decriminalize certain provisions of state laws, thereby easing the process of doing business and reducing unnecessary legal burdens. In addition, the Cabinet approved redevelopment projects for seven government properties across the state. Additionally, the minimum qualifying service period for certain promotions within the Commercial Tax (Registration) Department was reduced temporarily.
