A major change is coming for electricity consumers in Chhattisgarh, effective September. The state government has withdrawn the electricity bill half-price scheme from August 1st. This decision means domestic consumers will no longer receive the previous benefits, and their electricity bills will increase. For the past several years, the state had provided a 50% discount on electricity consumption up to 400 units per month. This subsidy provided significant financial relief to many households, reducing their monthly bills by hundreds of rupees. The removal of this subsidy will likely lead to adjustments in household budgets as consumers face higher electricity costs in the coming months. The increased bills will range between 558 and 1223 rupees.
