Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has returned to Raipur from Delhi after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While the visit sparked speculation about a cabinet reshuffle, CM Sai has clarified that any expansion will occur “when the time is right.”
Speaking at the airport, CM Sai outlined the discussions held with PM Modi, focusing on the progress of Chhattisgarh. He described the opportunity to share the state’s progress as a significant one. Discussions also included the Bodhghat project and river interlinking initiatives, with the former expected to generate 125 megawatts of electricity and both projects set to benefit irrigation efforts across a wide area.
Furthermore, CM Sai informed PM Modi about the efforts of the state’s security forces in combating Naxalism, receiving commendations from the Prime Minister. He also extended congratulations on Operation Sindoor. Regarding cabinet expansion, the CM was reserved, stating that decisions would be made in due course.
The current cabinet has two vacant positions. These vacancies arose when MP Brijmohan Agrawal resigned from his positions as a cabinet minister and MLA during the Lok Sabha elections. Before his resignation, Agrawal held responsibility for the education portfolio, which CM Sai is currently managing.
