
Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), a sum of ₹152.84 crore will be distributed to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh. The funds will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the insured farmers. This allocation includes ₹10.25 crore for 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season 2024 and ₹142.58 crore for 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season 2024-25.
The disbursement is scheduled for Monday, August 11, and will utilize a nationwide direct benefit transfer-based automated system. The central event will be held in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be chaired by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest at the event. Furthermore, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Keshari Lal Meena, will also attend as special guests.
To ensure participation, eligible farmers from Chhattisgarh will be able to join the program virtually. The event will commence at 12 noon. Local agricultural offices at the district and block levels have made provisions to facilitate the participation of a large number of beneficiary farmers.
