The ‘Chitrotpala Film City,’ planned for the Mana-Tuta area of Atal Nagar, will be developed by a private firm, spanning approximately 70 acres. The project has been approved under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model by a committee led by the Chief Secretary. The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board is finalizing the details and preparing for tenders, which are expected to be released within a month. The film city is projected to cost about 95 crore rupees, with construction beginning in the next few months.
The Tourism Board will allot land to private investors under the PPP model for building studios and other facilities. E-buses will be implemented within the film city, which is anticipated to attract roughly 400 crore rupees in investment, creating jobs for many local artists and youth. The government aims to incentivize private sector engagement, encouraging film industry investors, producers, and artists.
The central government has sanctioned 147 crore rupees for the film city and tourism projects in Chhattisgarh, based on a state government request. This film city will foster Chhattisgarhi films, theatrical productions, and tourism. The Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2024-25 includes a 95.79 crore rupees budget for the Chitrotpala Film City in Mana-Tuta, Raipur, and a 51.87 crore rupees budget for a Tribal and Cultural Convention Center.
