
The Chhattisgarh government is making preparations for a dignified and grand Independence Day celebration throughout the state. A meeting chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary of the Chhattisgarh government established directives for the upcoming festivities. All relevant departments were instructed to ensure the celebrations uphold the traditions of previous years, emphasizing national pride and organized execution.
The main event in Raipur will be held at the Police Parade Ground beginning at 9 AM. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the national flag and address the public. The ceremony will include a guard of honor presented to the Chief Minister by a joint parade of various forces.
The Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, will oversee the parade, which will involve participation from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (women and men), Home Guard, and NCC cadets. Awards and recognitions will be awarded by various departments; these departments are to form juries and submit their selections to the General Administration Department by July 29, 2025. Any proposals received after the deadline will not be reviewed.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will deliver a message to the public, which will be broadcast throughout the state on Doordarshan and All India Radio. Following the main ceremony, students will perform patriotic songs and dances. The School Education Department will organize the programs for the students, and the distribution of awards will take place at the event venue. The Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Municipal Commissioner of Raipur have been assigned important duties related to the Independence Day main ceremony arrangements.
All public buildings and national monuments across the state will be illuminated on the night of August 15. Private institutions are also encouraged to participate in flag hoisting and provide lighting. Collectors have been instructed to organize events and exhibitions at the district, block, and panchayat levels. Freedom fighters and families of martyrs who lost their lives in Naxal violence will be honored during the celebrations.
