The Chhattisgarh government, focusing on a strategy of trust, development, and rehabilitation in Naxal-affected areas, has requested the central government for a special project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This initiative aims to provide a respectable life to surrendered Naxals and families affected by Naxal violence, leading to the approval of 15,000 houses. The project represents more than just construction, it is the foundation of new trust, security, and stability. The completion of houses in just three months, despite the difficult and varied geographical conditions, demonstrates that the government and the public can achieve the impossible together. The government is committed to providing a permanent home to all eligible families.
Smt. Sodi Hungi, from Oiras village, has also completed her permanent house in three months. Her husband, Masa Sodi, was killed by Naxals in 2005. The family was forced to live in a dilapidated home for years. Following the approval of housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) special project, Sodi Hungi received a total of ₹1.35 lakh in three installments. Her house was completed in July with the technical guidance and monitoring of the Gram Panchayat. Now, she lives with her family in their new permanent home.
