
The Chhattisgarh government has announced a series of measures to enhance financial support for soldiers and their families, including significant increases in ex-gratia payments and other benefits. A meeting of the State Military Board, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, approved these measures. The ex-gratia amount for the families of soldiers martyred in action has been raised from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. The meeting also decided to increase the financial assistance for gallantry award recipients. Param Vir Chakra recipients will now receive Rs 1 crore, up from Rs 40 lakh. Additionally, the meeting addressed various welfare schemes for veterans and their families.
Chief Minister Sai highlighted the importance of supporting the families of soldiers who risk their lives for the country’s security. The meeting saw positive discussions on suggestions aimed at improving the lives of ex-servicemen and their families. The decisions made are expected to directly benefit ex-servicemen and their families, with further consideration given to valuable suggestions put forward by members. The meeting saw the presence of several high-ranking officials and military personnel.
