
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a meeting of the Central Tribal Development Authority in Korba, announcing a significant increase in the authority’s budget from 50 crore to 75 crore rupees. This increase aims to bolster development initiatives benefiting Scheduled Tribes in the central region. The meeting, held at the Korba Collectorate, marked the first gathering since the authority’s restructuring, emphasizing a new strategy for tribal welfare and comprehensive progress. The government is dedicated to taking concrete steps to uplift the tribal community and ensure that development projects have adequate resources. The Chhattisgarh government has formed tribal development authorities for various regions, including Bastar, Surguja, and the central area, as well as for Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive development. These authorities are designed to expedite development work in tribal regions, enhance transparency, and extend public services to every village and family. The authority’s composition has been expanded to include representatives from the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, District Panchayat Presidents, and other prominent figures. Additionally, the inclusion of experts in tribal development aims to leverage their insights and experience for effective project implementation. The PM Janman scheme is bringing forth new prospects in tribal regions. The government is placing a special emphasis on implementing specific schemes focused on education, health, and livelihoods for tribal communities. Infrastructure development, including housing, roads, electricity, water, and digital connectivity, is rapidly progressing under the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janman Yojana. Key announcements included infrastructure improvements and projects to boost tourism, education, and irrigation, with the goal of completing unfinished projects and providing better facilities to tribal communities.
