
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the importance of public health and economic development at the inauguration of the Dental Conference 2025 in Raipur. He stated that the government’s goal is to ensure the well-being of Chhattisgarh’s 30 million citizens, while also working towards a developed state. Sai noted the significant improvements to the state’s healthcare infrastructure and the expansion of health services to remote areas over the past 20 months. The Chief Minister observed an exhibition showcasing dental equipment and unveiled the Dental Association’s annual souvenir at the conference. He highlighted the government’s focus on healthcare, which includes opening five new medical colleges and establishing physiotherapy, nursing, and mother-child care institutions. This is part of the broader initiative to create a healthier and more prosperous Chhattisgarh. He cited the rise in medical colleges from one to 15 since 2000. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana are providing free medical care, and affordable generic medicines are available to the public. Speaking on oral cancer cases, the Chief Minister highlighted the critical role of dentists in promoting oral hygiene. He shared a memory of his time in Parliament when he sought the establishment of AIIMS in Chhattisgarh. The state government has developed the ‘Chhattisgarh Vision 2047’ document and set out 10 missions to achieve its goals. The aim is to boost the state’s GSDP to 75 lakh crore by 2047. He reiterated the state’s abundance of mineral and forest resources and the hard work of its farmers and residents. He concluded by acknowledging the significance of dentists in preserving oral health and expressed hope for the conference to encourage discussions on dental diseases and treatments. He also noted the GST reforms which aim to help both trade and agriculture.
