
Police in the Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh have apprehended three individuals following an assault on a petrol pump supervisor in the Dhabadih village of Bhatapara. The primary suspect, Krishna alias Raja Verma, is the nephew of Tankram Verma, the Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare in Chhattisgarh. Other individuals involved include Ashish Baghel and Bhim Sahu. The incident took place on the night of August 9th. According to the victim, Vinod Dubey, a supervisor at the Nandlal Fuel petrol pump in Dhabadih, he was on duty around 11 pm when Krishna Verma and Ashish Baghel arrived. They lured him to a truck near a dhaba, where the assault occurred. The attackers allegedly made derogatory remarks and physically assaulted the supervisor, mentioning their connection to the minister and threatening him. The Minister, Tankram Verma, stated his opposition to wrongdoing, and while not confirming the relationship, emphasized that the law would apply and appropriate penalties would be enforced. The 43-year-old Krishna Verma, the son of Minister Verma’s brother, is a resident of Champa village. Ashish Baghel, also 43, resides in Semharadih village, and 26-year-old Bhim Sahu also lives in Semharadih. The police have launched an investigation and are taking legal actions against the accused.
