Chhattisgarh is implementing a subsidy scheme to encourage the installation of solar rooftop plants. Consumers will benefit from financial assistance from both the central and state governments. For a 1-kilowatt solar plant, the state government will provide a subsidy of ₹15,000, alongside ₹30,000 from the central government. For plants with a capacity of 3 kilowatts or more, the subsidy will amount to ₹30,000 from the state and ₹78,000 from the central government. The subsidy amount varies based on the solar plant’s capacity.
This subsidy is also available to housing societies and residential welfare associations. The initiative is part of the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana and is managed through the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL). The goal is to promote renewable energy and offer financial advantages to electricity consumers.
