In a significant counter-terrorism operation, the Chhattisgarh ATS has detained two minor boys in Raipur for their alleged involvement with an ISIS module based in Pakistan. Officials revealed that the youths were allegedly receiving instructions from Pakistan and were active online, using social media to spread extremist ideologies. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma indicated that the minors were exposed to and propagating extremist material on platforms like Instagram. “They had access to considerable information and were extensively using the internet and social media under the ISIS name,” he commented. This incident is unprecedented in Chhattisgarh, and authorities are committed to a thorough investigation to uncover any wider network. The minors face charges under the UAPA. The state government intends to strengthen the ATS’s capabilities across Chhattisgarh to prevent such radicalization attempts and urged citizens to be vigilant against anti-national content online.
