The Chhattisgarh Transport Department has issued a warning to the public about fraudulent activities related to e-challans. The department has urged citizens to make payments for vehicle-related e-challans only through the official website. The advisory follows reports of scams where vehicle owners received fake messages and emails requesting payment. The department has made it clear that payments should not be made through unofficial websites, links, or apps. To check the authenticity of a challan, vehicle owners can visit the departmental portal and select the “Pay Online” option. By entering the vehicle number and the last four digits of either the chassis or engine number, one can view complete challan details and proceed with secure online payment. The department has reiterated that all e-challans issued by the police and transport department are available only on the official portal. Individuals are cautioned against trusting suspicious calls, messages, or links. Those who suspect fraud should report it to the nearest police station or transport department.
