The Chhattisgarh Waqf Board has issued an order mandating the hoisting of the Indian flag at all mosques, dargahs, and madrasas in the state for Independence Day. The directive is part of an initiative to foster national unity and harmony. The order stipulates that the Tiranga be displayed at the main entrances of the specified religious institutions on August 15th. The Waqf Board has communicated the instructions to all mutawallis, urging them to ensure the respectful hoisting of the flag and the singing of the national anthem. The chairman of the Waqf Board, Dr. Saleem Raj, stated that the move is intended to promote national unity, goodwill, and brotherhood within the state.
