The IMD has issued varying levels of alerts – Red, Orange, and Yellow – indicating the severity of the expected weather conditions.
Red Alert Details:
The districts of Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, and Gariaband are under a Red Alert. These areas are likely to experience thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds ranging from 60-80 kmph.
Orange Alert Details:
Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, Narayanpur, Kondagaon, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, and Gariaband are under an Orange Alert. These districts can anticipate thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden strong winds with speeds between 40-60 kmph.
Yellow Alert Details:
Sukma, Bijapur, South Bastar Dantewada, Bastar, North Bastar Kanker, Dhamtari, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Mahasamund, Raipur, and Durg are under a Yellow Alert. The weather forecast for these areas includes thunderstorms, lightning, and sudden strong winds with speeds between 30-40 kmph.
