Chhattisgarh’s Vishnu Deo Sai cabinet has undergone a much-anticipated expansion. Three MLAs were sworn in as ministers today, marking a significant development. Gajendra Yadav from the Durg division, Guru Khushwant Saheb representing the Raipur division, and Rajesh Agarwal from the Sarguja division, all took their oaths of office and secrecy. The swearing-in began with Gajendra Yadav, who included his father’s name during the oath. Following him was Guru Khushwant Saheb, the MLA from Arang. Finally, Rajesh Agarwal, the MLA from Sarguja, took the oath as a minister. After the ceremony, the newly appointed ministers met with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to receive his congratulations.
Chief Minister Sai stated: “I extend my congratulations and best wishes to the new cabinet members, Gajendra Yadav, Guru Khushwant Saheb, and Rajesh Agarwal, who were sworn in today. I have complete faith that all ministers will serve the public with utmost dedication and create a bright future of development and good governance.” The Chief Minister emphasized his belief that the new ministers will work with dedication and efficiency to serve the public, guiding Chhattisgarh towards progress and good governance. He wished all the ministers success, highlighting the state government’s commitment to meeting public aspirations through collaboration and dedication.
The allocation of ministerial portfolios to the three new ministers is scheduled for this afternoon. Some existing ministers’ departments might also be restructured. Furthermore, departments like education, currently under the Chief Minister’s purview, will be assigned to other ministers.
There is speculation that Guru Khushwant Saheb might be entrusted with the portfolios of Religion, Culture, and Tourism. Gajendra Yadav could be given the responsibility for Education, Higher Education, and Technical Education. Rajesh Agarwal, the MLA from Ambikapur, is expected to be assigned the departments of Transport and Mineral Resources.
