
A review meeting led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was conducted at Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur, to assess the Housing and Environment Department’s operations. During the meeting, the Chief Minister examined the progress of projects under the Nava Raipur Development Authority and provided pertinent instructions to the officials present.
Attendees included key officials such as Finance and Housing & Environment Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Housing and Environment Shri Ankit Anand, NRDA CEO Shri Chandan Kumar, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Commissioner Shri Avnish Sharan, Raipur Development Authority CEO Shri Akash Chhikara, among other senior officials.
The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s primary focus on the well-structured development of Nava Raipur. He emphasized that development must be planned in alignment with the region’s future needs. Nava Raipur, intended as a modern capital city, currently houses prestigious educational institutions like IIM, IIIT, and the National Law University. Considering the anticipated growth in the area, extending public amenities is essential. Discussions included the expansion of rail connectivity, where the Chief Minister instructed officials regarding the new railway line from Parmalkasa to Kharsia, being built by the Government of India and passing through Balodabazar district. He expressed the goal of connecting this line to Nava Raipur, thereby improving rail services for the public.
Chief Minister Sai also addressed the need for a logistics hub in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar as part of the Bharatmala project to connect Visakhapatnam, supporting development, and encouraging imports and exports. Officials reported that the expressway project through Chhattisgarh is nearly complete, which will reduce the Raipur-Visakhapatnam distance by 100 km. The Chief Minister also noted the positive impact of the state’s new industrial policy in attracting investors, promoting job creation. Discussions also involved the Oxyzone initiative, focusing on the planting and growth of trees like Peepal, Banyan, Karanj, Neem, Ashok, Amaltas, and Gulmohar. Plans for a commission bidding complex for state commissions, boards, and corporations, along with proposals for a working women’s hostel, a 100-bed hospital, and a new police station were also shared. The Chief Minister directed the proper utilization of allocated land for constructing new buildings in the area.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the operations of the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, Chhattisgarh Housing Board, Town and Country Planning, Chhattisgarh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), and Raipur Development Authority, issuing essential directives to the respective officials.
