Chief Minister Shri Sai visited the home of Smt. Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme), to review the implementation of government schemes.

Positive changes are occurring in the lives of villagers through schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission – Chief Minister Shri Sai.

Raipur, May 05, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited Karigaon village in Shakti district as part of the Good Governance Festival 2025. Here, he held a chaupal (community gathering) sitting on a cot under a Peepal tree. A large number of villagers attended this chaupal, directly communicating with the Chief Minister, sharing their problems, suggestions, and information about the implementation of government schemes. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the objective of our government is not only to formulate schemes, but also to ensure their implementation at the ground level and reach every eligible citizen. He said that the basic foundation of good governance is public hearing and engagement with public concerns, and today’s chaupal is a step in that direction.

Chief Minister visits the home of a PM Awas Yojana beneficiary

After the chaupal, Chief Minister Shri Sai visited the under-construction house of Smt. Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and inspected the quality of the construction work, talking to the family and gathering information about the benefits received from the scheme. Chief Minister Shri Sai asked the beneficiary if she was receiving the financial assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. To this, Smt. Sonai Bai replied that she was receiving this amount regularly, which was providing financial support to her family.

The Chief Minister observed that water was being supplied to her house through a tap under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that now water is also reaching your home, this is a major change in the direction of providing basic facilities in our villages.

Chief Minister’s appeal for housing scheme survey

Villagers present at the chaupal requested new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. On this, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to providing housing for all. He informed that the survey work under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is underway till May 15, 2025, in which all those people who are still deprived of this scheme should register their names. The work of providing housing to all according to eligibility will be done on priority. He said that the state government is ensuring that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to housing. This is not just a scheme to provide a roof, but a strong step towards providing respect and security.

The Chief Minister said that good governance is not just an administrative process, but a system of governance based on citizen participation, transparency, and accountability. He said that through the chaupal, we are able to directly connect with the lives of the people and find out what changes the schemes are actually bringing to their lives. He said that when we go to the house of a beneficiary and ask if the money has come or not, when we ourselves see the quality of the construction work, only then do we believe that the schemes are coming out of the files and reaching the beneficiaries.
