Chief Minister Shri Sai visited the house of Smt. Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, to review the implementation of government schemes.

Positive changes are coming into the lives of villagers through schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and Jal Jeevan Mission – Chief Minister Shri Sai.

Raipur, May 05, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited Karigaon village in Shakti district under Sushasan Tihar 2025. Here, he held a chaupal (meeting) sitting on a cot under a peepal tree. A large number of villagers were present in this chaupal, who directly communicated with the Chief Minister, providing information on their problems, suggestions, and the implementation of government schemes. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the objective of our government is not only to formulate schemes but also to ensure their implementation at the ground level and reach every eligible citizen. He said that the basic foundation of good governance is public hearing and connection with public concerns, and today’s chaupal is a step in that direction.

Chief Minister Reaches PM Awas Yojana Beneficiary’s House

After the chaupal, Chief Minister Shri Sai visited the under-construction house of Smt. Sonai Bai, a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and inspected the quality of the construction work and inquired about the benefits received from the scheme while talking to the family. Chief Minister Shri Sai asked the beneficiary if she was receiving the financial assistance under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. On this, Smt. Sonai Bai said that she is regularly receiving this amount, which is providing financial support to her family.

The Chief Minister observed that water is being supplied to their house through a tap under the Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that now water is also reaching your house, this is a big change in the direction of providing basic facilities in our villages.

Chief Minister’s Appeal for Housing Scheme Survey

Villagers present in the chaupal demanded new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. On this, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to providing housing for all. He informed that the survey work under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is going on till May 15, 2025, in which all those people who have been deprived of this scheme so far should register their names. The work of giving housing to all according to eligibility will be done on priority. He said that the state government is ensuring that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to housing. This is not just a scheme to provide a roof, but a strong step towards providing respect and security.

The Chief Minister said that good governance is not just an administrative process, but a system of governance based on citizen participation, transparency, and accountability. He said that through the chaupal, we can directly connect with the lives of the people and know what changes the schemes are actually bringing in their lives. He said that when we go to the house of a beneficiary and ask whether the money has come or not, when we ourselves see the quality of the construction work, only then we believe that the schemes are coming out of the files and reaching the beneficiaries.
