Handed over the keys to dream homes and a dignified life
Raipur, May 20, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today formally inaugurated 226 newly constructed houses under the Atal Awas Yojana at Gram Murmunda, as part of Sushasan Tihar, and handed over the keys to the beneficiaries, fulfilling their dreams of owning a home. On this occasion, while facilitating the housewarming ceremony for Shri Tushar Sahu, the owner of building number 226, he said, “Today, we are not just handing you a house, but a home of your dreams. This moment is not only a memorable milestone in your life but also in the public welfare efforts of the government.”
Congratulating all the beneficiaries, the Chief Minister said that the priority of the Chhattisgarh government is to provide dignified and safe housing to every citizen of the state. He said that schemes like Atal Awas not only provide housing facilities to the general public but also play an important role in their social and economic empowerment. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Vijay Sharma was also present on this occasion.
Years of Dreams Realized
Shri Tushar Sahu, the beneficiary of house number 226, was overwhelmed after receiving the keys from the Chief Minister and said that he had always dreamt of living in a beautiful, clean, and peaceful environment. This dream of years has come true today. “It is a moment of pride and emotion for me to have the Chief Minister perform the housewarming ceremony.” He informed that this 2 BHK house is equipped with all the necessary amenities and is also affordable compared to the market price. Shri Sahu was present on this occasion with his parents and family members. The Chief Minister also inspected his house and appreciated the quality of construction.
Keys Given to Several Beneficiaries
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also handed over the keys to their houses to Shri Rupnarayan Dewangan, Shri Arun Sahu, and Shri Chandrashekhar Rathore. Shri Arun Sahu, the owner of building number 215, who is posted at Bhilai Steel Plant, said that entering his dream home before retirement is the happiest feeling of his life. The state government, through the Atal Awas Yojana, has given us the opportunity that we had been waiting for for years.
A Gift of a Bright Residential Future
Under the Atal Awas Yojana, run by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board, a total of 226 independent houses and 12 shops have been constructed on approximately 10 acres of land in Gram Murmunda at a cost of Rs 24 crore 57 lakh 98 thousand. These include 55 buildings in the EWS category, 69 LIG-A type, 86 B type, and 16 MIG type. All the buildings have been sold, and 7 buildings have been registered.
