
After Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s initiative to open “Siyan Gudi” for the better care of the elderly in the state, the first elderly health and care center of the state has been started in the district hospital complex of Korea. It was inaugurated jointly by MLA Shri Bhaiya Lal Rajwade and Collector Smt. Chandan Tripathi.
MLA said that on the occasion of Senior Citizens Day, Korea got an invaluable gift
In the program, MLA Shri Rajwade said that today, on the occasion of Senior Citizens Day, this facility received by the district is indeed a big gift. He said, our elders have contributed throughout their lives in nurturing the society and the family. This center will prove to be very helpful for their care and treatment.
Collector Tripathi said that in this age, crowd and pain is the biggest problem
Collector Smt. Chandan Tripathi said that it is a common thing to suffer from knees, heels and other diseases as age increases. He said, all of us have to go through this condition. The biggest problem in old age is to avoid the crowd and get relief from pain. Keeping these things in mind, this elderly care center has been started as per the wishes of the Chief Minister. She said that this center has been ready in just one and a half months.
She appealed to the elderly to convey the information about this center to other senior citizens around them. Along with this, she also told that ‘Vayovriddh Express’ is also being run, so that those elderly people who are not able to reach the hospital, the facility of examination and treatment can be provided at their home itself. MLA Shri Rajwade, Collector Smt. Tripathi and public representatives honored the elderly by presenting flowers, shawls and coconuts and these representatives appealed to the new generation to maintain affectionate dialogue with the care of these elders.
Advanced equipment and therapy for the elderly
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Prashant Singh said that advanced equipment has been provided in the elderly health center. These include facilities like tricycle, balance board, foot massager, parallel bar, stair climbing, treadmill, massage chair, traction and wax bath. He said that physiotherapy and Panchakarma services will also be available to the elderly here. Now the elderly will not have to wander here and there for these treatments.
Distribution of equipment on Senior Citizens Day
On International Senior Citizens Day, the Social Welfare Department also distributed sticks and other assistive devices to many elderly people of the district.
‘Arogyam Nikushtha Korea Campaign’ from October 2 to 8
Dr. Singh informed that ‘Arogyam Nikushtha Korea Campaign’ will be conducted in the district from October 2 to 8. Under this, public awareness programs will be organized to remove the symptoms, prevention, examination, treatment of leprosy and the misconceptions associated with it.
