Lakshika Sahu, Raipur. Politics has heated up due to the name of former Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand being linked to the much-discussed liquor scam of Chhattisgarh. After BJP’s allegations in the matter, PCC Chief Deepak Baij today held a press conference at Congress state headquarters Rajiv Bhawan. During this time, when questions related to Vivek Dhand were asked to Badge, he seemed to avoid it and said that investigation in the matter is going on. While targeting BJP, he said that during the election season, Congress leaders are being intimidated through central agencies.
In fact, after the arrest of Kawasi Lakhma on Wednesday in the liquor scam case, the sword is now hanging on former Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand because in the charge sheet presented by ED in the court, Vivek Dhand has been named as the mastermind of the liquor scam. Let us tell you that Vivek Dhand was also the chairman of the Innovation Commission in the Bhupesh government. He has played an important role in government and administration.
After Vivek Dhand’s name cropped up in the liquor scam, BJP has fiercely targeted Congress. PCC Chief Deepak Baij held a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan. During this time, Deepak Baij is seen avoiding saying anything in the matter of Vivek Dhand. He completely avoided the question of Vivek Dhand’s involvement. But he has accused the BJP government of targeting ST, SC and OBC category leaders. He has said that BJP does not want to allow any tribal leadership to come forward. Whenever elections come, BJP does the work of intimidating Congress leaders through central agencies.
Taking aim at Chief Minister Sai, the PCC Chief said that the Chief Minister is targeting our tribal leaders Amarjeet Bhagat, Kawasi Lakhma and then OBC leader Devendra Yadav. He further asked who is next, which tribal leader is the government going to target?
Along with this, in the press conference he has demanded from the government to restore OBC reservation. Baij has said that OBC sections across the state are preparing a strategy to boycott elections. Due to the wrong intentions of BJP, the OBC class has suffered losses from the ward to the president, for which the BJP government is responsible and the OBC class is extremely agitated by this. The government is depriving the OBC class from contesting elections.
He has also alleged that the BJP government is committing robbery in the reservation of general category people by giving general seats to OBCs. He has demanded that whether he brings an ordinance or calls a special session. The government should make whatever efforts are necessary to restore OBC reservation.
Regarding EVM, Deepak Baij said that this government has now taken refuge in EVM due to fear of defeat. Earlier the Deputy Chief Minister was talking about ballot paper but now she is adopting every trick and setting to win. He said that district heads from many districts are complaining that there is no VVPAT in EVMs. This government is running in reverse. The government should clarify what is the truth behind this.
PCC Chief Deepak Baij has opposed the elections amid board exams. He said that exams are starting soon. CGBSE are CBSE ICSE board exams. Children need one month free time for preparation. If there are campaigns in every street and locality then how will the children study? The government is also increasing the date of publication of voter list. How will the government conduct papers and elections in such a short time? Lakhs of students will appear in the state examination. Exams and elections will be held in the same centre, how is this possible. Exams and elections should not clash together.
First will there be elections or examinations, the government will have to clarify otherwise the students will have to suffer the consequences of the wrong policies of the government. Along with this, he also raised the issue of breach of promise to the farmers. Said that the amount of Rs 3100 has still not reached the accounts of the farmers. The government is buying paddy at Rs 2300. Why the promised hospitality of Rs 3100 has been half, now tell when will the farmers get Rs 3217?
