The Balrampur Police in Chhattisgarh has suspended three officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kusmi police station, Lalit Yadav. The suspension relates to an incident where two constables, Vishnu Kant Mishra and Pranjul Kashyap, were transporting a suspect from West Bengal. Their vehicle was intercepted by the Jharkhand Police in Ranchi. The Jharkhand Police had received intelligence about the potential abduction of a prominent individual from West Bengal. The Balrampur SP, Vaibhav Banker, took swift action, suspending the officers.
Investigations revealed that SHO Yadav had dispatched the constables to West Bengal without proper authorization or informing senior officials. The case involved a fraud complaint, and the complainant had provided the vehicle used. The officers were apprehended after arriving in Bardhaman, West Bengal.
Upon being stopped by the Jharkhand Police, the constables identified themselves as Chhattisgarh police. The case reached the Jharkhand DGP, who informed his counterpart in Chhattisgarh. The Chhattisgarh DGP subsequently contacted the Surguja IG. Following discussions with the Balrampur SP, the Jharkhand Police released the constables. The SP then suspended the three officers for their actions.
