The incident began when Hemant Chandravanshi, a resident of Kawardha, left his belongings near the Gangrel Dam, prompting a massive search operation. Despite an intensive 12-day search by police and divers, no trace of the man was found in the water. The authorities then began to suspect foul play, eventually tracking his phone to Delhi.
