
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah acknowledged the achievements of officials involved in recent anti-Naxal operations by meeting them in New Delhi. He extended congratulations on the historic success and highlighted the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the grip of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present at the event.
On X, the Home Minister praised the officers and shared his eagerness to meet the soldiers who helped achieve these victories. He plans to visit Chhattisgarh soon to personally interact with them. Under the direction of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, anti-Maoist operations were carried out by security forces in Chhattisgarh. A major operation in the Abujhmad region from May 18 to May 21, 2025, involved the Chhattisgarh Police and DRG forces from several districts. The operation culminated in an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter, where 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Baswaraju (Gaganna), were killed. Substantial amounts of arms and ammunition were seized. The recognized officials included DGP Arun Dev Gautam, ADG Vivekananda, IG Sundarraj, SP Prabhat Kumar, SP Jitendra Yadav, and SP Shalabh Singh, with Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, IB Director Tapan Deka, and other senior officials also in attendance.
