
A meeting was held at the residence of Diwakar Tiwari, the state president, involving officials from the Loktantra Senani Sangh and Loktantra Prahari, Chhattisgarh. The meeting was presided over by Sachchidanand, the National Vice President of the Loktantra Senani Sangh. The primary focus was the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Emergency. A state-level essay competition was announced, organized by Loktantra Prahari, a partner of the Loktantra Senani Sangh. College students will explore “June 25th: Why is it relevant as the Constitution Assassination Day?”, while school students will address “The Emergency Should Not Be Forgotten.”
Vishal Rajhans, the state president of Loktantra Prahari, detailed that participants must obtain consent from their school or college principals and submit their essays by June 30, 2025, to the designated address. Prizes will be awarded to the top essays, with substantial monetary rewards for the winners and encouragement awards for other noteworthy submissions. The gathering also included discussions on the annual honoring of democracy fighters and satyagrahis at the Chief Minister’s residence on June 26th, an event that will also include members of the Loktantra Prahari.
National Vice President Sachchidanand Upasane highlighted the importance of remembering the Emergency. The event is expected to have the presence of key political figures, including the Assembly Speaker and the Chief Minister, alongside ministers, officials, and BJP leaders. Discussions on “50 Years of Emergency” and “Constitution Assassination Day” will be given by eminent speakers. Furthermore, the meeting also finalized the release of a booklet, “The Black History of the Emergency”, aiming to educate the public about the events of the Emergency. Diwakar Tiwari and Vishal Rajhans also announced an upcoming restructuring and membership drive for the Loktantra Senani Sangh and Prahari at both the state and district levels. Key figures in attendance included Diwakar Tiwari, Vishal Rajhans, and several other prominent members. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Diwakar Tiwari.
