
Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the 66th Foundation Day program of Doordarshan organized at the Doordarshan Kendra located in Raipur and extended his best wishes to the Doordarshan family, officers, employees and viewers. He inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp and shared his memories associated with this historic journey. During this time, the Chief Minister enjoyed the captivating performances of Chhattisgarhi folk dance, songs and classical music and dance presented by the artists of Doordarshan. Artists presented folk dances like Gaur dance, Bans Geet, Jawara dance, Sua dance and Gauri-Gaura in front of the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that along with entertainment, Doordarshan has also played a major role in enriching us intellectually and in inculcating values. He mentioned the colorful telecast of the Asian Games in 1982, serials like Ramayana and Mahabharata and said that the magic of Doordarshan in that era was such that silence would descend on the roads during the telecast.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that through songs like “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara”, Doordarshan gave the message of the country’s unity and cultural uniformity. The tradition of Doordarshan in maintaining the dignity of news and the purity of language has always been commendable.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the regional centers of Doordarshan have provided a national platform to local artists and talents. Raipur Doordarshan has conveyed the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh to the country and the world through its popular programs and especially “Hamar Chinhari”.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that through Krishi Darshan, programs related to women and special content presented for the youth, Doordarshan has connected every section of the society. Remembering the interview given in the “Apni Baat” program after taking over the responsibility of the Chief Minister’s post, he said that Doordarshan always gives sufficient opportunity to express its views clearly and in detail.
The Chief Minister said that the benefits of our government’s public welfare schemes are reaching lakhs of beneficiaries and the positive changes coming in the society through Doordarshan are being prominently displayed. He said that when the success story of an individual is broadcast on Doordarshan, it becomes a strong basis for changing the lives of lakhs of people.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while congratulating the Doordarshan family once again on the Foundation Day, expressed hope that Doordarshan will continue to be a major medium of entertainment, values and awareness for the general public.
Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Rajesh Agarwal said that Doordarshan has made a significant contribution in bringing the art, culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh to the national and international platform. He expressed confidence that in the coming time also, Doordarshan will present the cultural heritage of the state to the world in a more powerful way.
On this occasion, Deputy Director General of Raipur Doordarshan Kendra, Shri Sanjay Kumar Mishra, along with other officers and employees were present.
