A transformative initiative is underway to empower tribal children in Chhattisgarh. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in partnership with Coal India Limited, is set to revolutionize education in 68 Eklavya Model Schools, impacting the lives of approximately 28,000 students. This project, supported by ₹10 crore from Coal India Limited’s CSR efforts, focuses on providing high-quality education, improving health, and promoting self-reliance. The program will equip the schools with digital infrastructure, including computer labs and digital devices (3200 computers and 300 tablets). Additionally, the schools will be equipped with sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators. A key component of the program is career guidance, including training in entrepreneurship, with bootcamps and mentorship opportunities from institutions like IIM, IIT, and NIT. This integrated approach seeks to align with the National Education Policy 2020, ensuring equal opportunities for all students, and is managed by the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation.
