A significant incident occurred at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur when the gate of an IndiGo flight became locked, trapping passengers for approximately 40 minutes. The flight, originating from Delhi, landed safely, but a technical malfunction prevented the gate from opening. Passengers on board included former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with other dignitaries and hundreds of travelers.
According to sources, the issue was caused by a technical glitch within the system, preventing the necessary signal from appearing on the pilot’s display to unlock the gate. Airport engineers worked to resolve the issue, eventually allowing the passengers to disembark. Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey stated the passengers were safe with no lack of cooling or water.
The incident heightened concerns among passengers, particularly in light of the recent Air India flight disaster. IndiGo has not released an official statement about the incident as of yet.
