A horrific incident has shaken the region of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi in Chhattisgarh. A man has died after being struck by a train, with his body remaining on the railway tracks for an extended period following the accident. The deceased has been identified as Babulal Kol. The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived at the scene.
The accident occurred on the Khairjiti railway track, located near the Chhattisgarh-MP border. The cause of the incident remains unclear, and the Gaurela police are conducting an investigation. Babulal Kol had recently returned from Andhra Pradesh where he was employed at a factory. On Monday morning, passersby discovered his body on the railway tracks, leading to the notification of the police.
Babulal Kol, a resident of Khairjiti village, was reportedly a laborer who worked at a factory in Andhra Pradesh. He was on his way back home when his body was discovered on the railway tracks. The victim’s head was found severed from the body, located off the tracks. Following the discovery, the police initiated an investigation. The Gaurela police are looking into both potential causes of death: murder and suicide. A disturbing element of this incident is that several trains continued to traverse the tracks where the body was lying.
According to Anjana Kerketta, the station in-charge of Gaurela police station, initial findings suggest that the man may have taken his own life due to personal distress experienced in recent days. The Gaurela police are actively investigating the case. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled after the panchnama (site inspection) was completed.
