
Government committed to ensuring a bright future for the children of Bastar – Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai
Chief Minister Shri Sai warmly met the children of Sukma district who came on an educational tour
Raipur, July 15, 2025 / Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai met the children of five remote gram panchayats of Sukma district who came on an educational tour of Raipur under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Shri Sai, while interacting cordially with the children, inquired about their well-being and warmly welcomed them to Raipur. He said that making the future of the children of Bastar bright is among the top priorities of the state government. The government is committed to providing all basic facilities including education, health, roads, electricity, and water to every corner of Bastar.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while talking cordially with the children, said that through this educational tour, you have got an opportunity to see and understand Raipur closely. Similarly, the state government is also developing rapidly in the Bastar region. He informed that security forces camps are now being established in remote areas, and wherever these camps reach, the doors of all-round development open. Now, government ration shops have been established in most places and the benefits of public welfare schemes are reaching the common citizens. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that in the near future, Bastar will be completely free from Naxalism.
The Chief Minister smilingly asked the children — “Did the lion cubs of Bastar see a lion in the Raipur Jungle Safari or not?” Everyone present, including the children, burst into laughter at this humorous remark.
Shri Sai said that the state government is continuously striving towards a self-reliant Bastar. They are also being linked to milk production to economically empower the people of Bastar. The government is ensuring employment opportunities at the local level along with education, so that the future of the children of the region can be safe and prosperous.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, MLAs Shri Ishwar Sahu and Shri Sushant Shukla were also present on the occasion.
It is noteworthy that under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, 100 school children from five remote gram panchayats of Sukma district—Palachalma, Potakapalli, Elmagunda, Tadmetla and Golapalli—have come on a two-day educational tour of Raipur. During the tour, these children were taken to observe important places like the Secretariat, Jungle Safari, Railway Station and Airport. It is known that under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, educational tours are being provided to the children of five Naxal-affected districts of Bastar.
