
Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district is set to receive a substantial injection of funds for development, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurating and announcing projects totaling 186 crore rupees. The announcement was made at a function held at the Government Lochan Prasad Pandey College campus in Sarangarh, which included the inauguration of 96 crore rupees worth of completed projects and the laying of the foundation stone for 90 crore rupees worth of new initiatives. Additionally, CM Sai announced 13.40 crore rupees for various enhancements to public amenities.
During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s dedication to fulfilling the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He discussed the ongoing procurement of paddy from farmers at 3,100 rupees per quintal, with a target of 21 quintals per acre. Furthermore, he mentioned the approval of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and noted the rapid pace of construction, which has led to a shortage of construction workers and materials in villages.
CM Sai also emphasized the success of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which is providing financial support to 70 lakh women across the state. He shared that many women are utilizing this financial assistance to start their own businesses. An example was cited from Dansara in Sarangarh district, where local women initiated the construction of a Ram temple using the scheme’s funds. Other key points include the rise in tendu leaf prices and the distribution of 10,000 rupees each to 5.62 lakh landless agricultural laborers. The Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana has enabled 22,000 devotees to visit Ayodhya Dham.
Revenue and District in-charge Minister Tankram Verma highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to promote development across both rural and urban areas in the state over the past year and a half. He expressed that the large investment in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh would lead to significant improvements in public amenities.
Member of Parliament Radheshyam Rathia focused on the accelerated progress of development projects and infrastructure upgrades in the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, which includes improvements to roads, education, and healthcare, along with the implementation of the PM Awas Yojana.
Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state is witnessing developments while also implementing the welfare programs of Prime Minister Modi. The 186 crore rupee package will boost infrastructure development in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh.
The Chief Minister also announced specific development projects including 5 crore rupees for the construction of a Gaurav Path from Bharat Mata Chowk to Kosir Chowk, 1 crore rupees for a garden in the Sarangarh municipality, 3 crore rupees for a building for the PG College, 2.5 crore rupees for the renovation of the indoor stadium, 1 crore rupees for the repair of the boys’ hostel, 40 lakh rupees for constructing patient rooms in the new district hospital, and 50 lakh rupees for expanding facilities at the bus stand.
Present at the event were Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Anurag Singhdev, other elected officials, government officers, and prominent members of the community.
