A female doctor staying at the Top N Town hotel in Korba, Chhattisgarh, was the victim of an attempted rape. The incident involved a hotel employee, Raja Khadia, a 35-year-old sanitation worker. The doctor, along with other colleagues, was in Korba for training at the District Medical College Hospital. After entering the doctor’s room through a window, Khadia attempted to assault her. When she resisted, he threatened her with a knife. The doctor’s cries for help brought others to the scene, forcing the attacker to flee. Civil Lines police have taken Khadia into custody for further investigation and questioning regarding the attempted assault.
