20th installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana released: Rs 606.94 crore reached the bank accounts of 65 lakh women
Raipur, October 4, 2025/ Mahtari Vandan Yojana, launched under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s ‘Modi’s Guarantee’, has brought new light into the lives of the sisters of Chhattisgarh. This scheme is not only financial assistance, but also a historic step to increase the self-confidence and self-reliance of women. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said this today while transferring an amount of Rs 606 crore 94 lakh as the 20th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana to 64 lakh 94 thousand 768 beneficiary women of the state from the land of Maa Danteshwari on the occasion of Bastar Dussehra and Muriya Darbar in Jagdalpur.
Union Minister Shri Shah said that Prime Minister Modi ji dreams that every woman should become empowered and self-reliant and play an equal role in the social and economic development of the country. He said that the transparency and commitment with which the Chhattisgarh government has implemented this scheme is an ideal for the entire country. This scheme will prove to be a strong foundation for the sustainable development and women empowerment of the state in the coming years.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that Mahtari Vandan Yojana is infusing new energy of confidence and respect in the lives of the sisters of Chhattisgarh. This gift received in the form of ‘Modi’s Guarantee’ from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is not only providing financial assistance to the women of our state, but is also giving them a new identity in the society and family by making them self-reliant. The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of our government that every woman of Chhattisgarh becomes empowered and becomes an equal partner in the journey of development. He said that this achievement is a proof of the commitment of the Chhattisgarh government to make women economically empowered and self-reliant. Mahtari Vandan Yojana has not only provided a means for the women of the state to meet their household needs, but has also provided them an opportunity to live with self-respect and economic freedom in the society.
It is noteworthy that the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which is said to be a revolutionary initiative in the direction of women empowerment, was launched on March 1, 2024. The objective of this scheme is to make married women above 21 years of age self-reliant by providing them with financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. Till now, a total amount of Rs 12376 crore 19 lakh had been given to the beneficiary women in 19 installments of the scheme. With the release of the 20th installment today, this figure has increased to more than Rs 12983 crore 13 lakh.
