
Another instance of cyber theft has surfaced, this time involving the exploitation of an OTP to steal money from a bank account. Authorities are investigating the incident.
The fraud took place in the Tarbahar police station area, where Rakesh Suryavanshi, living in a rented house in Vinoba Nagar, was targeted. The fraudsters used an OTP to commit the crime. When Rakesh woke up in the morning, he received an OTP message on his phone. Within a short time, ₹2,35,338 was transferred from his bank account. He was left with a balance of only ₹1,423.97.
After the incident, the victim promptly filed a report with the police station. Considering the seriousness of the case, police have registered a case against unidentified individuals under sections 318 and 4 of the BNS, and the investigation is ongoing.
