In Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, a man’s deception triggered a 12-day search operation. Following the discovery of a man’s clothes and slippers near the Gangrel Dam, authorities presumed drowning and began a search with divers. After an extensive search, the missing person was found to be in Delhi. The man had faked his death due to being in debt. On May 24th, Hemant Chandravanshi, from Kawardha, and his companions, visited Dhamtari and stayed near the Gangrel Dam. The next morning, while his companions were away, Chandravanshi’s belongings were found. The Rudri police were alerted and initiated a search. The police, finding no evidence of a body, grew suspicious. They tracked a different phone number, leading them to Delhi. Police located and brought him back to Dhamtari. ASP Manishankar Chandra stated the man created this scenario because of debt issues. Legal action will be taken.
