The goal of eliminating Naxalism from Chhattisgarh persists. Security forces are actively carrying out operations under the direction of both the central and state governments. These successful operations have seemingly pressured the Naxal organization, leading to an expressed interest in peace talks.
A letter, purportedly from Abhay, the central spokesperson of the Naxal organization, has been widely shared online. Abhay states a readiness to negotiate, conditional on the government implementing a ceasefire.
The letter further alleges that the party has been attempting peace negotiations since March 2025, but the government has increased its encirclement and elimination activities since January 2024. The letter also references the loss of 28 central committee members, including General Secretary Baswaraju, during a major encounter in Gundekot, Mad area, on May 21.
According to the letter, the organization has made a decision to continue the incomplete peace process and plans to collaborate with political parties and other groups on public matters, foregoing the use of arms.
