
The monsoon has become active again in Chhattisgarh after a period of inactivity. The weather system has now moved from Bastar to Durg district. The forecast indicates a high probability of heavy rainfall across numerous districts of the state during the next three to four days. In Raipur, and other regions of the state, cloudy skies and rainy conditions have persisted since the morning. The advancement of the southwest monsoon is aided by suitable environmental conditions. In the past 24 hours, some regions in the state received light to moderate rainfall.
The IMD has stated that the southwest monsoon has reached the entire Konkan, parts of Central Maharashtra and Gujarat, the southwest of Madhya Pradesh, some areas of Vidarbha, some regions of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Sikkim. This development has triggered a change in the state’s weather. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in North Chhattisgarh on June 17 and 18.
Today, the forecast includes a chance of light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in a number of areas. Strong winds and lightning are also possible in some places. In Raipur, generally cloudy skies are predicted for today, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms.
