Chhattisgarh is preparing for the arrival of the monsoon, which is expected to bring much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. The southwest monsoon has reached the state’s border and is likely to enter within the next two days. It is anticipated that Bastar will be the first region to experience the monsoon’s impact, followed by other areas like Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, and Surguja. The IMD predicts that the monsoon will cover the entire state by June 15th, leading to widespread rainfall. The expectation is that this will bring significant relief to the population, especially farmers. Despite the higher-than-average rainfall in May, temperatures rose again in early June, affecting daily life. The monsoon’s entry is expected to bring a complete change in weather patterns. Rainfall is anticipated to begin in the Bastar division, extending to Surguja, Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur. The authorities have issued advisories for citizens to remain cautious regarding potential issues related to the weather, including power cuts and waterlogging.
