Security forces successfully neutralized six Naxals during an encounter in the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh. The operation was initiated after receiving information about the presence of Maoists. IG P. Sundarraj reported that the encounter, which commenced on Friday afternoon, involved intermittent clashes between security forces and the Maoists. Besides the six bodies, the forces recovered AK-47 and SLR rifles, other weapons, explosives, and daily necessities from the encounter site. The operation is still ongoing. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai lauded the courage of the security forces, reiterating the state’s commitment to eliminating Naxalism. Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly stressed the goal of eradicating Naxalism from India by 2026 and has called on Naxals to surrender, warning of severe consequences if they fail to do so.
