In Chhattisgarh, an important piece of news has surfaced concerning Naxal activities. The Naxals have been found to be using ProtonMail, a privacy-focused email service, for the protection of their data. This finding comes from a press note that was issued by the Naxals, revealing their methods for secure communication.
It’s important to note that the email IDs provided by the Naxals are not based on regular email platforms but are derived from the secure ProtonMail service. This service is recognized for its capabilities in private data exchange. Prior instances of ProtonMail usage have been reported in connection with ISIS.
In India, a court petition requested a ban on ProtonMail. The Karnataka High Court responded by ordering the central government to block ProtonMail in the country. This order was a consequence of a case involving the sending of offensive and inappropriate emails to a female employee.
