Addressing soldiers in Nava Raipur, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah credited the success against Naxalites to the bravery and hard work of security forces. He commended the Central security forces, COBRA teams, Chhattisgarh Police, and DRG for their courage, valor, and dedication. Shah declared that, based on the security forces’ commitment and capabilities, Naxalism in India will be eradicated by March 31, 2026.
Shah underscored the devastating impact of Naxalism on impoverished tribal areas, where it has caused approximately 40,000 deaths and disabilities over the past 35 years. He highlighted that Naxal violence has denied basic necessities like food, electricity, education, and sanitation to tribal communities, as well as hindering industrial development. The government is now focused on bringing development to these areas, providing essential services and connecting them to the mainstream.
Shah stated that the elimination of Naxalism will be a significant moment, comparable to India’s independence. He also launched a book in Nava Raipur that discusses the atrocities committed by Naxalites against tribal communities and the efforts to save Bastar, with the aim of helping readers understand the suffering of the victims and exposing those who sympathize with Naxalites under the banner of human rights.
