A new rail service has been launched, linking Rajim and Raipur in Chhattisgarh, improving accessibility for the residents. The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the new MEMU train service, which enhances the transportation options for those traveling between Rajim and Raipur. The Rajim-Raipur-Rajim MEMU train service, along with the Raipur-Abhanpur MEMU rail service, has also been extended to Rajim. Many passengers took the opportunity to travel, anticipating the easy commute to Raipur. This new, affordable rail service has brought a feeling of joy to the entire area. The Chief Minister mentioned that this new rail service will allow people from Rajim, Gariyaband, and Devbhog to travel to Raipur, the capital city, affordably. This service will also be particularly helpful to students, professionals, and business people. The integration of Rajim, known as Chhattisgarh’s Prayag, with the railway network will make travel from rural areas to Raipur much easier, more convenient, and more economical. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has supported continuous development in Chhattisgarh over the past 19 months. The rapid investment in railway infrastructure guarantees a bright future. It is worth noting that the broad-gauge train service, which replaced the narrow-gauge service from Dhamtari to Raipur after an eight-year hiatus, has been restarted. The state is currently investing about 45,000 crore rupees in railway projects. The 2025-26 financial budget includes roughly 7,000 crore rupees for the swift expansion and development of rail services within the state.
