
Chhattisgarh is introducing a new scholarship program to support the higher education of girls. Under the Azim Premji Scholarship, female students who have passed from government schools in 10th or 12th grade will be awarded an annual scholarship of ₹30,000. The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, initiated the scheme at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Raipur.
The Chief Minister remarked on the importance of educating girls for the betterment of society. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to girls’ higher education. This scholarship will aid girls from financially vulnerable backgrounds in completing their college or diploma courses.
The scheme is being implemented in partnership with the Azim Premji Foundation through an MoU. The Chief Minister thanked the Foundation for their support, noting that this initiative would help realize the aspirations of many girls. He also mentioned the progress made by Chhattisgarh in various sectors, with girls contributing significantly. He underscored the importance of ensuring no girl has to forgo her education due to financial limitations.
