
The Indian government, through its Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, is set to provide financial relief to farmers in Chhattisgarh. A total of ₹152,846,200 will be disbursed to 141,879 eligible farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme. This disbursement will be executed via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) method. Specifically, ₹10,259,700 will be allocated to 33,943 farmers from the Kharif 2024 season, while ₹142,586,500 will be provided to 107,936 farmers participating in the Rabi 2024-25 season. The claims distribution, utilizing an automated DBT system, will occur at a program in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, under the leadership of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
