
A significant sum of ₹152.84 crore is being allocated to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh as part of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. This financial assistance will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of the farmers who have enrolled in the crop insurance scheme. The disbursement encompasses claims for the Kharif and Rabi seasons. Specifically, ₹10.25 crore will be distributed to 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season of 2024, and a substantial ₹142.58 crore will be allocated to 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season of 2024-25.
The payment is set to occur on Monday, August 11, utilizing a nationwide direct benefit transfer system. The central event will be held in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be chaired by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest. The event will also be attended by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Bhagirath Choudhary and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister Dr. Kishori Lal Meena.
Virtual participation will be facilitated for insured farmers from Chhattisgarh.
The program is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM. To ensure widespread participation, arrangements have been made at the district level through the offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture and at the block level through the offices of the Senior Agriculture Development Officer, enabling farmers to join virtually.
